Dr. Dewey M. Caron is Emeritus Professor of Entomology & Wildlife Ecology, University of Delaware, & Affiliate Professor, Department of Horticulture, Oregon State University. He spent 40+ years teaching, doing bee extension and bee research at Cornell (1967-70), University of MD, College Park (1970-1981) and University of DE, Newark DE (1981-2009). In this “Intermediate to Advanced Practical Beekeeping Class on Anticipatory Beekeeping, Reading The Bees, Handling Maladies, and Defining Successful Beekeeping” workshop, Dr. Caron will walk you through the practical techniques as well as providing knowledge about bees that will improve your ability to understand and help your bees.
1pm – 5pm Queen Rearing & Hands on Grafting

Dr. Juliana Rangel is Associate Professor of Apiculture in the Department of Entomology at Texas A&M University. In this hands-on queen rearing and grafting class you will learn to identify viable larvae, techniques on grafting, and general tips on raising queens in your own apiary.
