Applications are NOW OPEN for the 2022-2023 Texas Honey Queen Program. As an official representative of the Texas Beekeepers Association, our program participants are given the opportunity to travel across Texas to speak and educate about the amazing creature the honey bee. This program has helped participants to build confidence, build their network and connections in and out of the beekeeping community, and experience unique opportunities throughout the State of Texas. As a small token of appreciation, the Texas Honey Queen is awarded a gift of $2,000 upon completion of their service program.

Eligibility for 2022-2023 are as follows:
- Any young lady who has reached her 17th birthday by January 1 and has not passed her 24th birthday on that same date preceding the TBA Convention / Queen Selection.
- Must be a resident of Texas.
- Must have a proper sponsor.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a high school graduate, in high school, or homeschooled.
- Must submit an application form, an entry fee of $50, a short bio, and a photo of herself to the Honey Queen Chairperson. The application form may be submitted either electronically or must be postmarked 20 days prior to the Honey Queen Program Selection (typically held in November alongside the TBA Convention).

| 20% | Essay and Presentation | Essay and presentation will be on the topic chosen by the judges and provided to contestants in advance. |
| 20% | Online Presence | Previous and current social media presence will be evaluated and scored based on appropriateness and overall presentation. |
