Beekeeping 101 – Virtual
This program is meant for those with little to no experience beekeeping!
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension presents a Beginning Beekeeping 101 Online program for anyone interested in:
- beekeeping and/or learning how to start your own bee hives for pleasure,
- environmental stewardship or
- to enhance pollination.
During this online, self-paced course you will learn the basics of honey bees and beekeeping, including:
- bee biology,
- beekeeping equipment and clothing,
- how to set up your apiary,
- what to expect the first year,
- how to manage your bees.
- pest management inside the hive.
Register to receive a coupon for a reduced price for the online course AND the opportunity to sign up for hands-on field day in Boerne. It is highly recommended that you complete the online course BEFORE taking the field day!
During the field day you will be provided a full suit and gloves and have the opportunity to get into a hive, use tools, hold frames and do beekeeping tasks.
