Beekeeping 101 – Online

Online Beekeeping 101 Spring 2024 is an online, self-paced course that will help take you through all the steps to becoming a better beekeeper!

Learn more about what suit options are available, what equipment to purchase, how to set up your apiary and what to expect in a typical year. This course will cover all the basics so that you are prepared to be a beekeeper!

By registering for the online course here, you also gain the option to participate in an optional field day, located in South Boerne/North San Antonio. For those local or willing to travel, this is an excellent opportunity to get into a bee hive, use the tools, diagnose some issues, and gain the hands-on aspect of beekeeping.

Instructions for after registering:

  • After registering for the online course here, you will receive an email containing a coupon code. Use the code received in your email at checkout on AgriLife Learn to register for the Beekeeping 101 online course.
  • Expect an email from Molly Keck (mekeck@ag.tamu.edu) in late March through April to sign up for your preferred field day. You must be at least 15 years to attend a field day.
  • It is highly recommended that you complete the online course before taking the field day!

Field Day Options:

  • Times and directions for the field training dates will be provided after registration.
